During the winter, many of us have driven past boatyards and seen dry-docked boats there, shrink-wrapped in plastic, protected from the ravages of cold weather.

Each spring and summer these boats, some of them quite large, make their way back into the water. Have you ever wondered how that happens?

These images follow the 12,000 lbs. powerboat “Take Six” and the wooden sailboat “Bob White” as each makes the short journey from dry dock to sea.
